Rocky Mountains

On Tuesday we decided to try and make it as close as possible to Colorado to shorten the drive.  We drove until about 12:30 AM and decided to go to a rest stop to stay for the night and drive the rest of the way to Colorado the next day. It was only a 4 1/2 hour drive to Boulder.

We decided to get Appa an oil change since he’s almost hitting his 3,000 mile mark since we bought him.  We looked up some places in Boulder and found Grease Monkeys. They were able to get Appa in right away and it looked like all the mechanics were excited to work on him! Appa has a 1992 5.2 Liter engine and it runs great. It only has about 40,000 miles on it.  The transmission was also built about 14,000 miles ago and we just fixed the transmission line and replaced the transmission fluid.  We had coolant so we just filled that up ourselves. Appa is refreshed and ready to see the rest of the country.

After Appa’s oil change, we decided to refresh at Planet Fitness. I got a 10 minute hydro massage and it was awesome! You can control the temperature and the speed. It’s pretty cool and I plan on getting one every time I go to Planet Fitness.

We are currently in Berthoud, CO and plan on exploring for a couple of days.  I hope to catch up with some friends here and also explore Denver.  The Rocky Mountains are incredible and today we got to explore Carter lake which was stunning.  There was a beautiful bench sitting beside the lake where I carved “Team Avatar” as we all talked about life.  I hope to return to it again one day.

I’d like to end this blog with a poem for someone special!

Familiar eyes, oh so blue

Ask myself, “do I know you?”

Your hair is dyed, what to think

I do like the color pink

We ride our bikes around the town

Listening to all the great sound

I tell you “I think you’re in my dreams”

You say “Oh yeah, is that how it seems?”

This girl has long hair, color is blonde

It flows in the wind oh so calm

You show me a picture of you before

Wow, it’s you! Say no more

I gaze into your eyes

As I stop and realize

Dreams do come true

I’m sitting here with you
